Kanban Boards

See your entire client base laid out by stage on a visual kanban board. Drag clients between columns as work progresses, spot bottlenecks instantly, and know exactly how long each client has been at their current stage — all without opening a single record.

Your Services, Visualised

Kanban boards build on service stages. Once you've defined stages on a service, toggle "Show Kanban Board" in the service's Stages tab. A Boards section appears in your main navigation, giving your team one-click access to a visual overview of every client at every stage.

Each column represents a stage. Each card is a client. The board fills itself from your live data — no setup beyond the stages you've already defined.

Drag and Drop

Move a client between stages by dragging their card to a different column. The stage updates instantly — no dialog, no form, no page reload. This is ideal for quick manual updates during team meetings or when triaging work.

Of course, stages can also advance automatically through workflow steps on recurring tasks. The board always reflects the latest state, whether it was set manually or by automation.

Time in Stage

Every card shows a live clock of how long the client has been in their current stage. "3d 4h 12m" tells you at a glance whether work is on track or stalling.

This makes it easy to spot bottlenecks. If several clients have been sitting in "Awaiting Records" for weeks, you know where to focus your chasing efforts.

Tasks & Workflow Steps

Each card shows the client's open tasks with their current status. If a task has a workflow, the card shows the current workflow step name and status instead — so you see exactly what's happening, not just the task title. Click any task to jump straight to it.

Overdue tasks are highlighted in red, so you can immediately spot work that needs attention.

Sorting & Filtering

Sort columns by client name, waiting time (how long the client has been in their current stage), or due date (earliest task deadline first). Each sort option works in both ascending and descending order.

Filter tasks by category to focus on a specific type of work, and search by client name to find a specific client quickly. Both the sort and category filter are remembered per service tab, so switching between boards keeps your preferred view.

Multiple Boards

Enable kanban on as many services as you like. If you have boards on VAT Returns, Accounts Preparation, and Payroll, each gets its own tab. Switch between them to see where every client stands across all your services.

With four stages or fewer, the board fits neatly in the page. With more, the layout expands to give each column room to breathe.

Built on Service Stages

Kanban boards are powered by service stages. If you're already using stages, enabling the board is a single toggle. If you're not, stages take minutes to set up — or import a service from the library and get pre-configured stages and workflows out of the box.
